Which minority communities are eligible?+
The six notified minority communities eligible for Ministry of Minority Affairs scholarships are: Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis (Zoroastrians). Each state also has a State Minority Commission that certifies community membership.
What is the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities?+
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is for minority students pursuing professional and technical degree courses at UG and PG level. It provides ₹25,000/year for maintenance + course fees up to ₹20,000/year. Eligibility: minimum 50% marks in previous exam, family income below ₹2.5 lakh/year.
What is the Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF)?+
MANF is for minority students pursuing M.Phil and PhD at Indian universities. It provides JRF (₹37,000/month) and SRF (₹42,000/month) plus contingency grants. UGC NET/JRF qualification is required. Administered by UGC, apply at ugc-manf.nic.in.
