Central Government Scholarships 2026-27
These scholarships are funded and managed by the Government of India. They are the most reliable, high-value scholarships with nationwide coverage.
For wards and widows of ex-servicemen, ex-coast guard, and RPF/RPSF personnel. ₹3,000/month for boys and ₹3,600/month for girls. For professional/technical degree courses only (MBBS, Engineering, MBA, MCA, etc.).
Department of Science & Technology scholarship for top 1% students in Class 12 board exams pursuing BSc, Integrated MSc/BS in natural and basic sciences. ₹80,000/year + summer attachment of ₹20,000.
For meritorious students from economically weaker sections selected through state-level examinations. Renewable from Class 9 to Class 12. Family income must be below ₹3.5 lakh/year. Separate NMMS scholarships for higher education are also available.
Central sector scheme for SC and ST students pursuing post-matric level education. Covers full course fee at government institutions + maintenance allowance. Family income limit: ₹2.5 lakh/year (SC), ₹2.5 lakh/year (ST).

Register on NSP
Visit scholarships.gov.in and click "New Registration". Enter your Aadhaar, mobile number, and email. Verify OTP. Create your login credentials.
Select Scholarship Scheme
After login, go to "Application Form" and select the appropriate scholarship scheme based on your category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority), course level, and state.
Fill Application Form
Fill in personal details, academic details (Class 12 and current course), bank account details (must be in your name), parent income details, and institution details.
Upload Documents
Upload: Passport photo, signature, domicile/residential certificate, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), Class 10 & 12 marksheets, current admission proof, bank passbook copy.
