  • Must have passed or be appearing in Class 10+2 (or equivalent)
  • Required subjects as per exam norms (PCM for engineering; PCB for medical)
  • Minimum aggregate marks: 50% (General), 40–45% (SC/ST/OBC/PwD)
  • Attempts: No limit (must be Class 12 pass/appearing in current year)

What is the KCET 2026 result date?+
KCET 2026 result is expected in May 2026. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will release the KCET rank card on kea.kar.nic.in. Counselling begins in June 2026.
What score is needed for RVCE Bangalore CSE in KCET?+
RVCE Bangalore CSE is the most competitive KCET college. You typically need 175+ out of 180 marks in KCET for General category. For Karnataka Government Quota (GM), the closing rank is usually AIR 100–300.
Is KCET only for Karnataka students?+
KCET is primarily for Karnataka domicile students. However, some seats under Management Quota and NRI Quota are open to students from other states through COMEDK UGET (a separate exam for private engineering colleges in Karnataka).
Can I use JEE Main score instead of KCET for Karnataka colleges?+
No. KCET and JEE Main are separate exams for different seat pools. KCET scores are used for government quota seats in Karnataka engineering colleges. JEE Main scores are used for NIT Surathkal seats (via JoSAA) which is different from KCET counselling.
